What can you expect from Northern Lifetime?

Having a brain injury or other traumatic incident can be unsettling, bewildering or frightening – even for the strongest of people.

For others, living with a lifelong condition can bring challenges every day. However, we understand your situation and want you to know that you are not alone.

Locating the right help and finding out what to expect can be confusing and time-consuming, but we hope that the outline opposite might be of help.

   A step-by-step guide

  • Your first contact with us. We are an experienced team and will begin to assess your situation and aspirations from the start, with the over-arching principle that whenever it is practically possible, you will be involved at the centre of our endeavours.
  • How we asses your needs? We will use face-to-face meetings where possible, backed up with virtual meetings, emails, texts or other messaging systems. We'll do our best to communicate with you in the way that you prefer.
  • Designing a tailored support package with you: in collaboration with you, and with your family and friends (where appropriate), plus any relevant legal and care professionals, we will design a package tailored specifically to your needs. We are good listeners and will use our experience to help you achieve realistic goals.

  • Rehabilitation programme: we will work with you to ensure you have access to all the rehabilitation professionals you might need.
    • A dedicated case manager: will help you feel secure in the knowledge that you have someone to turn to. We work closely together so you’ll have back up from another team member if and when your case manager goes on leave.
    • Making the most of life: you will be the centre of your team and wherever possible we will support you to live the life you want to live.
